Letter to My Younger Self, From Row Z

By Lalajo Maung May 7, 2025 1 min read

Dear younger me,

You’re sitting in Row Z right now, the cheapest seat in the house, and you think this is a compromise. You think the real experience is down there, in the front row, where you can see the whites of the goalkeeper’s eyes.

You’re wrong. Row Z is where football reveals itself. From up here, you can see the patterns. The runs that start before the pass is played. The shape of the team as it shifts from defense to attack. The intelligence that is invisible from ground level but unmistakable from the gods.

Keep sitting in Row Z. The view gets better the more you understand.
